Why Knowle is a great place to live

About Knowle

Knowle is a beautiful village in the Solihull area. Home to just 11,000 residents, it is a modest place suitable for those who love the quiet life. It’s got good connections to other parts of the Midlands, with many choosing to live in Knowle and commute elsewhere for work.

We might be biased – but we reckon it’s a fantastic place to live. There’s a great community vibe around the whole village, with friendly locals hosting lots of different events and activities for all to enjoy.

And there are lots of great properties for you to make your own home too.

Here’s why we love Knowle so much…

It’s a Lovely, Quiet Village

As mentioned, Knowle has approximately 11,000 residents – making it small even by the standards of a village!

That means it’s a lot quieter, has less pollution, and less crime.

It also means there are fewer franchise and national/international outlets. Many of the shops, restaurants and pubs are locally owned and completely independent.

That’s what creates such a close-knit atmosphere about the place.

The village life isn’t for everyone – we understand some people prefer living in a bigger city – but if you’re convinced of the benefits that come with living in a smaller space, we can’t recommend Knowle enough.

Excellent Transport Links

If you’re looking to travel outside of Knowle – whether for work or other reasons – we’d recommend having a car.

There are good motorway connections to several key cities in the UK – including the nearby Birmingham, but also London.

It takes about 25 minutes to drive to Birmingham City Centre.

If you want to take the train, you’ll have to travel over to the next village – Dorridge. It isn’t too far, just a five minute drive or a 30 minute walk.

With good transport links, even those who love big cities see no reason not to live in Knowle.

It’s a Great Family Place

There are lots of different types of people who live in Knowle – retirees, young professionals, and especially families.

If you’re married with a couple of children, Knowle would be a great place for you to live.

One of the reasons for this is the excellent standard of schools.

There are five primary schools located around the area (that includes nearby villages such as Dorridge and Temple Balsall).

And there is one secondary school, which consistently boasts fantastic performance year after year.

Beyond that, Birmingham has some exceptional universities, if your children wish to continue their education close by.

It’s Got Fantastic Property Options

There are lots of different types of properties for you to choose from, including terraces, flats, detached and semi-detached houses.
