Visit Knowle celebrate 4th birthday

It’s our birthday and it feels like our feet haven’t touched the floor in the last 12 months!

We’ve been busy with no less than 16 events including:

  • Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in June 2022
  • Heritage Walk
  • Town Tidy Day
  • Late Night Shopping Night
  • Christmas Entertainers to Knowle
  • Christmas market
  • Spring Fundraising Ball
  • King’s Coronation Celebrations in May this year
  • Bi-monthly networking sessions
Four images, Image One a child on an adults shoulders at the Coronation Celebrations, an image of people at a dining table at a Spring Ball, an image of Christmas entertainers on stilts at Swan Yard and an image of people in the street at Jubilee Celebrations

We’ve helped make the High Street an attractive place by:

  • Introducing the parklet
  • Requesting the refurbishment of planters and litter bins
  • Launching the “Knit for Knowle” hanging basket campaign

We’ve championed Knowle and it’s businesses by:

  • Inviting Small Business Saturday to Knowle to meet lots of independent businesses
  • Showcasing businesses on our social media and website
  • Creating a Christmas video featuring Father Christmas
  • Attending Visit Solihull’s Tourism Forum
  • Attending Solihull Chamber’s networking events to talk about local businesses
  • And we won a Solihull Chambers of Commerce Excellence in Sales & Marketing Award & were shortlisted for Greater Birmingham Chambers award for Excellence in Sales and Marketing

We’ve supported local businesses by

  • Regularly meeting representatives of Solihull Council
  • Surveyed businesses about the parking requirements in Knowle
  • Kept members up to date with monthly newsletters
  • Hosted regular networking sessions
  • Regularly met other B93 community groups to work together on projects
  • Organising a complimentary photo shoot for members
  • Delivering social media webinars
  • Having one of our team on the Executive Committee of Solihull Chambers

We wouldn’t be where we are now without our members and our team, who between them have given over 2000 hours of their time over the last 12 months.

Now Visit Knowle needs you. To continue our work, we’d like more businesses to join as a member and more residents to become a friend of Visit Knowle. Your contributions will help support us deliver projects such as a midsummer celebration, street markets, business expo’s and further improvements to our street scene.

You can find out more what we do and how to support our work by reading all about us or by coming to meet us at our next networking event (19th July at The Ale Rooms from 6pm)
