Community

There’s no shortage of community groups and establishments in Knowle. Knowle Parish Church, Arden Academy, Knowle and Dorridge Round Table, Knowle and Dorridge Lions, Knowle Society and Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath Neighbourhood Forum are just a few.

Knowle Parish Church

Knowle Church dates to 1403 and was originally a daughter church to nearby Hampton in Arden parish church. Today, Knowle Parish Church offers a wide programme for the local community including:

  • Sunday services
  • Cobbles - a Saturday café offering coffee & cake at the Guild House
  • Friendship Club
  • Bumps & Babies Café on Friday mornings at the Guild House
  • Dad and Toddlers Group meeting monthly on Saturday mornings
  • Rainbow Tots - a friendly parent and toddlers’ group for ages 0-3 running every Tuesday in term time
  • Stepping Stones - a pre-school operating three days a week in St Johns Hall.

Arden Academy

Arden Academy is the local secondary school serving the local community. It’s hosts the start of Knowle’s Annual Fun Run, and the Parent's Association annual Fireworks Night.

Knowle Society

Knowle Society formed in 1962 to maintain the character of Knowle and supports village events such as the Christmas Light Switch on, Heritage Open Days, festivals and jubilees. It has provided the Christmas tree since 1975. They also run a programme of events including walks and talks.

Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath Neighbourhood Forum

KDBH Neighbourhood Forum was formed to create a ​Neighbourhood Plan that sets conditions (policies) for new development specifically relating to the villages of Knowle, Dorridge and Bentley Heath. They play a key role in the future development of Knowle.

Knowle and Dorridge Round Table

Knowle and Dorridge Round Table is an organisation run by and for Tablers as a hobby. They bring smiles to the local and wider community by helping and raising as much money as they can whilst having fun and meet every other Tuesday to indulge in various activities. Community Events include the very popular Santa’s sleigh route, Dorridge Day and Knowle’s Beer Festival.

Dorridge Lions

Serving the community & raising funds for local and other charities Knowle and Dorridge Lions are a group of volunteers who organise the Knowle Fun Run, Festive Walk & Heart of England Bike Ride. The team also meet socially.
